Termites protection

Resistance where it matters.

Documented treatment helps resist subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, in eligible treated lumber.

A protected frame is part of the plan.

Termites can work out of sight. Treating the lumber gives eligible components built-in resistance before they are enclosed, while inspections and the project’s required pest-management measures protect the broader building.

  • Use the specified treatment and keep the treatment records.
  • Maintain required clearances and avoid wood-to-soil contact.
  • Continue inspections and any required soil or perimeter treatment.
What supports the protection?

The public product evaluations document resistance to subterranean termites for the listed wood products and approved applications. Verify the exact species, exposure conditions and installation requirements before specifying.

What are the limits?

Treated lumber does not protect every item inside the home. Untreated wood and other cellulose materials are outside the treated-component protection; this is not a substitute for code-required pest management.

How do warranties fit in?

Coverage depends on the selected treatment, eligible wood, project records and complete written terms. A warranty is a defined remedy, not a promise that damage can never happen.
